Sadly YDRfm did not win the full time broadcasting license for Yeovil and the surrounding area. This web site has been left online so that people can see what YDRfm achieved during its five years campaigning for a local radio station and to show what YDRfm could have provided for the community.

Kerry is one of the more crazy members of the team, she brings her own style of sunshine to the team. She'll be presenting the Saturday night show from 9pm - 12am. She will be keeping all of the area's night owls entertained with some great fun and music. Kerry loves to live life to the full, to say shes a crazy cat would be an understatement. Tune in and join her for some weekend fun.

Rich Bessell

Richie 'Bouffant' Bessell, the main presenter of the Saturday team, will be joining the boyz, Paul and Matt, for a fun packed afternoon from 2 'til 6 each week.

Rich, 28, started his broadcasting career nearly 7 years ago with Yeovil's hospital radio (Radio Camelot) and enjoys a variety of different activities including skittles, golf and sound engineering. He's also a keen supporter of Yeovil Town Football Club.

He lives on Abbey Manor Park with his fiancé, Donna, and will be getting married in July of this year. Rich has recently started working at Aerosystems International, in West Hendford, as a PC Support Engineer.

Neil has been DJing for over five years in clubs across the breadth of the south of England. He plays a range of Hip Hop, UK Garage and House music, but can mainly be heard playing all forms of breakbeat. Neil currently holds residencies at Heroes in Glastonbury, and Soulfood at Globetrotters in Yeovil. Anyone wanting to know about his sound should look to his main influence, the Fatboy himself - Mr Norman Cook!

Neil was a member of the breakbeat duo the Future Funk Squad, and has done remixes for the likes of Ian Dury & The Blockheads, and local heroes Electrasy. More recently Neil, and production partner Glen have had the pleasure of remixing the classic 'Show Me Love' by Robin S for Champion Records, and have their first single 'Pulse' out in May on Default Records. The Future Funk Squad have received high acclaim from established DJs such as Freq Nasty, Stanton Warriors, and US DJ Freddy Fresh.

On the Soulfood show you'll hear the latest in all things urban - R & B, Garage and a little bit of Breakbeat.

John Clothier has always had a passionate interest in music. He is currently a Radio Presenter for two major local hospitals. He has a particular interest in Modern Country and the great classic hits of the 60s 70s and 80s. John's hobbies include Land Rovers, Classic Cars and Clay Pigeon Shooting. John has lived and worked all his life in the Yeovil area and is extremely committed to the prospect of a local radio station. He has been involved in broadcasting for several years and firmly believes that YDR FM will provide 'local news' for 'local people' by 'local people'

Danny D

Danny has been on YDR FM since it's launch, he presents the weekday mid-morning show from 10am - 2pm. With guest interviews every day, lots of great classic hit music and some great features, Danny's show is not to be missed. He can always been seen at our roadshows and he has recently appeared on the Trisha show on YDR FM's behalf. (The rumours about him and Trisha are of not true, or are they?). Did you ask why he is called Danny D? Ahh that would be telling. (Can't you guess, answers on a postcard please).
Mark Eames
Mark Eames

Mark Eames will be driving you home/round the bend as host of YDR FM's weekday drivetime show (Monday to Friday, 4pm to 7pm). Listeners can expect a jaunty mixture of music and mirth, including fun features like The Stressbuster, Top Ten and the Placenames quiz. Local news and weather will be crucial ingredients, with the all important traffic & travel details updated every 30 minutes. Blend all this with brilliant music and you have the perfect ride home - enjoy "The Universe According To Mark" from 4th June 2001.

Kevin presents on Sundays from 2pm - 5pm. Join him for his brand of fun and humour. Kevin is the 'Eddie Murphy' the station (if you tickle him, you'll know what we mean!). Kevin has lived and worked in Yeovil since he was a nipper and loves to present of on Yeovil's own radio station. Do join him for some fun.

Al Harwood is presenting the 13th floor, the indie/alternative show on YDR FM. On Tuesday evening between 7pm and 9pm, he'll be playing the latest and greatest in all things indie, including a local band & unsigned act features. If you are in a local band please send in your CDs and tapes to YDR FM at the usual addess. Al has lived in Yeovil all his life and is very passionate about music... work, rest & play.

Neil joined the team just before the Nov - Dec 2000 broadcast, and has been messing with the computers ever since. Initially being roped in to construct the new-look web site, he got 'pursuaded' to do a 'Web Site Of The Day' feature on the breakfast show, and managed to help out Mark Eames on his weekend evening shows as 'Splendid' Neil. Now, Neil has received even more 'pursuation' and will be appearing in the 'Breakfast Jam' between 6am and 9am weekdays. The 'Web Site Of The Day feature will continue, so if you have any favourites (clean ones only !!!), please let him know at neil@ydrfm.com. Neil is the one responsible for setting up the YDR FM webcam - if you don't like what you see, there's only one person to blame. People of a nervous disposition beware !!!

Mat is YDR FM's dance presenter. He'll be on from 7pm - 9pm on Friday and Saturday nights. Fridays are for people who enjoy mainstream club music, from garage to trance and will feature classic dance tracks. Saturdays are aimed at the more serious party person who likes their music hard, fast and banging, featuring new releases, promos and a few tracks from years gone by. Pete Lambden

Pete Lambden has been working as a DJ in and around Yeovil for over 25 years (that's right he is 76).He started out by providing the music for the "School Disco" when he was 14 and since then has performed at hundreds of weddings, birthday parties, and functions as well as appearing at the local night clubs.

Pete (or LAMBO as all his friends call him) lives in Yeovil and works at Westlands. He has an amazing collection of over 10 thousand Records/CDs and Tapes which range from everything from rock, soul, Country, classical you name it and Petes usually got some of it and believe it or not he loves all of it !!

Pete will be on Air on Sunday evenings from 7pm till 9pm playing Disco/Soul from the 70s and 80s and also for all you nightbirds from Midnight every Friday playing late night chill out sounds to relax and unwind into the weekend. YDR FM's cuddly bubbly Keith Oliver returns for another wunderbubble broadcast this June when Yeovil's Top Late Night Show returns with loads of brill stuff for your evening's listening Monday to Friday 9 till Midnight.

Keith has been a presenter on numerous local radio stations across the West and South West and brings 30 years of professional broadcasting experience to YDR FM... Yes!!! His first programme was way back in 1971 when he still had hair and lager was less than 10 pence a pint... Ouch!!!

A lot of lager has flowed down the throat and settled in the middle since then... Hence "The Man with the Perfect Body for Radio". Keith lives in Chard with wife, Helen, Dexter the German Shepherd and 12 Furry Felines... And soon to join the Oliver Household the beautiful GSD Puppy called 'Scharna' who was born in March 2001. Keith works at Yeovil's Screwfix-Direct where YDR FM is a favourite with the workforce.
